About The Position
The position involves providing breastfeeding education, consultation, and counseling to patients in both inpatient and outpatient settings. The role requires assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating breastfeeding management using the nursing process. The candidate will provide holistic, evidence-based breastfeeding support from preconception to weaning, acting as an advocate for breastfeeding as the child-feeding norm. Responsibilities include conducting prenatal breastfeeding classes, providing outpatient care, and acting as a clinical expert/resource for staff on lactation-related subjects. The position also involves participating in the development of educational programs and promoting the mission, vision, and values of SCL Health.
