The Registered Nurse (RN) is a professional caregiver who assumes responsibility and accountability for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating the care of patients. The staff RN utilizes the nursing process by use of technology, therapeutic intervention, evidence-based practice and coordination of care with other health team members. Spanish Fork Women’s Center is a new 20 bed unit (8 LD and 12 postpartum) with 2 Operating Rooms that functions as a modified LDRP. The staff cover LD, Postpartum and Well Newborn Nursery which offers great experiences for both staff and patients alike. We are a level 1 facility that delivers uncomplicated pregnancies 35 weeks and beyond. We offer a hydrotherapy tubs in labor rooms and can accommodate unmedicated, low-intervention deliveries as well as multiple other care plans and pain relief modalities. We believe that moms and babies do best when they are together as much as possible so our rooms are designed with that in mind. We staff with a primary nurse model and ratios are based on acuity and clinical guidelines. We have an IBCLC available for lactation concerns as well.
