The Registered Nurse in Labor and Delivery is responsible for the delivery of safe patient care utilizing the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation. This role provides direct patient care within the scope of practice, directs and guides patient/family teaching, and oversees activities of other nursing personnel while maintaining standards of care in the Birthplace. The RN must be able to respond quickly and accurately to changes in patient condition and/or response to treatment, provide a safe environment for patients and visitors, and utilize the chain of command when necessary to ensure patient well-being and appropriateness of care to newborns and mothers during the antepartum and postpartum periods.

Requirements

• Current and valid state RN License.
• BLS certification within 30 days and maintain current.
• ACLS certification within 90 days and maintain current.
• NRP certification within 90 days and maintain current.
• Basic Fetal monitoring within 60 days of hire and maintain current.
• AWHONN Intermediate Fetal Monitoring certificate within 12 months.

Nice To Haves

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree preferred.
• AWHONN Advanced Fetal Monitoring certificate preferred.
• STABLE preferred.

Responsibilities
