About The Position

The Registered Nurse (RN) in the Labor and Delivery unit provides specialized care to pregnant individuals during labor, childbirth, and the immediate postpartum period. This role emphasizes a holistic approach to patient care, focusing on healing and wellness while ensuring evidence-based practices are followed. The RN will coordinate and deliver direct patient care, support families, and contribute to a compassionate healthcare environment.

Requirements

• Current RN licensure or work permit in Kentucky.
• Bachelor's or an associate degree in nursing from an accredited college/university.
• Candidates with an associate degree must enroll in a bachelor's degree program within 12 months of hire and achieve the degree within 5 years.
• Basic life support certification.
• ACLS/PALS/NRP certification and successful completion of dysrhythmia class as required by the department.

Responsibilities

• Implement professional nursing practice centered on the patient as a whole person.
• Provide direct patient care activities including nursing rounds, assessments, and treatments.
• Facilitate admission, transfer, and discharge activities.
• Provide patient and family-centered education.
• Coordinate care and develop individualized treatment plans as applicable.
