About The Position

The Registered Nurse specializing in Labor and Delivery will provide comprehensive care and support to women during pregnancy, labor, and childbirth. This role involves collaboration with obstetricians and midwives to ensure safe delivery and the well-being of mothers and newborns.

Requirements

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice.
• Bachelor's degree in Nursing or related field preferred.
• Certification in Inpatient Obstetric Nursing (RNC-OB) preferred.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in labor and delivery nursing.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-stress environment.
• Knowledge of current trends and best practices in labor and delivery care.
• Ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary team.

Responsibilities

• Monitor the progress of labor and assess the physical and emotional status of the mother and baby.
• Administer medications, epidurals, and other medical interventions as needed.
• Assist with delivery, including performing episiotomies and supporting the mother during the process.
• Educate mothers and their families on prenatal and postnatal care, breastfeeding, and newborn care.
• Provide emotional support and counseling to mothers experiencing complications or difficulties during labor.
• Collaborate with other healthcare providers to create individualized care plans for each patient.
• Document all patient interactions and interventions accurately and in a timely manner.
• Keep abreast of and follow all hospital policies, procedures, and protocols related to labor and delivery care.
