About The Position

The Staff RN Labor & Delivery provides professional nursing care by utilizing the nursing process to care for patients through early pregnancy up to and including the birth process (vaginal or cesarean) and newborn neonates. This role involves coordinating care planning with other disciplines and requires critical thinking skills as demonstrated by the ability to prioritize, problem solve, and communicate through the chain of command. The treatment of patients should be individualized and should reflect an understanding of the developmental needs and range of treatment needs for each patient. The RN will also perform all other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing preferred.
• BSN preferred.
• Minimum of one year nursing experience in Maternal Child Services preferred.
• Experience in Labor & Delivery preferred.
• Must possess a current California RN license.
• BLS certification required.
• ACLS certification within 90 days of hire or status change.
• Must obtain NRP within 60 days of hire or status change.
• Must obtain Basic Fetal Monitoring certificate within 60 days of hire (for new grads or those without L&D experience).
• Must possess current Advanced Fetal Monitoring certification or Electronic Fetal Monitoring as a condition of employment for experienced L&D RNs.
• Must obtain Advanced Fetal Monitoring certificate within 1 year of hire or status change (for new grads or those without L&D experience) and every 2 years thereafter unless have Electronic Fetal Monitoring.
