About The Position

The University of Miami is seeking a Registered Nurse who will observe and follow the adopted standards, policies, directives, and orders related to nursing. The role includes serving as a preceptor and service educator, coordinating unit-specific orientation and education, and providing patient care during non-interventional and interventional radiology procedures. The nurse will perform thorough assessments, administer medications, and ensure patient safety and comfort throughout procedures. The position requires collaboration with medical, technical, and support staff, and involves responsibilities such as patient education, documentation, and participation in quality improvement initiatives.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Nursing from an accredited school of nursing.
• Current/valid FL RN license.
• BLS and ACLS certifications required; PALS preferred.
• Minimum 3 years of relevant nursing experience, preferably with PACU, ICU, or Emergency Department experience.
• Extensive knowledge of nursing principles, practices, and techniques.

Nice To Haves

• Moderate Sedation and IV certifications preferred.
• Experience in radiology procedures and safety practices.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a preceptor for new associates, introducing them to the service area and validating initial competency.
• Perform the role of Service Educator, coordinating unit-specific orientation and education.
• Conduct thorough pre-procedure and post-procedure assessments.
• Titrate intravenous medications according to patient’s hemodynamic status.
• Care for patients with continuous cardiac monitoring, including rhythm identification and intervention.
• Administer sedation/analgesia and monitor patient responses under physician direction.
• Provide care during non-interventional and interventional radiology procedures.
• Document patient information accurately and timely.
• Assess patient needs and design, implement, and evaluate patient education plans.
• Participate in ANCC Magnet Recognition Program activities.
