Ball Memorial’s adult intensive care unit is an 18-bed unit specializes in
Comprehensive care putting the patient and their family first, addressing all
elements of care medical, emotional, and spiritual. Driven by evidence-based
practice to provide up to date care and pushing the field of nursing forward. we
use a multidisciplinary team approach consisting of nurses, physicians, patient
care assistants, case managers, and secretarial support staff. Our care team
specializes in the care of acutely ill medical/surgical patients, with a primary
focus on patients effected by trauma, general surgery, stroke, cardiac arrest
respiratory failure/prone, neurosurgery, and unstable critical patients. We
pride ourselves on our strong partnership and high-quality care we deliver to
our patients.

Requirements

• Requires an Associates of Nursing (ASN); Bachelor of Nursing (BSN) preferred.
• Education: The Registered Nurse (RN) must have graduated from a nationally accredited nursing program.
• Exceptions: Candidates who have not graduated from a nationally accredited program may be considered if they possess more than two years of acute care experience. Such exceptions are subject to review and approval by the Chief Nursing Officer (CNO).
• Requires an active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Indiana or an active Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) RN license.
• Requires Basic Life Support certification through the AHA.
• Other advanced Life Support certifications may be required per unit/department specialty according to patient care policies.
