Location: Dan Abraham Healthy Living Center (DAHLC 5) Patient Care Type: The Fibromyalgia, Chronic Fatigue, POTS, Post COVID, and Cancer Survivorship Clinic is part of Integrative Medicine & Health in General Internal Medicine. These outpatient programs offer treatment and education to help patients shift from disease-focused treatment to wellness focused care. The programs help cancer survivors and those with fibromyalgia pain, fatigue, and other debilitating chronic symptoms. Registered Nurses (RNs) complete consultations, assessments, and education in an interdisciplinary setting. The clinic operates Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Nursing Roles: The RN is responsible for conducting independent assessments of patients, including evaluating their current and past symptoms, level of functioning, and setting goals. Additionally, nurses facilitate group and individual educational sessions both in person and virtually. RNs function autonomously within the interdisciplinary team and under the direction of the medical director/nurse manager. The registered nurse (RN) is accountable for the coordination of nursing care, including direct patient care, patient/family education and transitions of care. The RN supports professional nursing practice across practice settings and across the continuum of care to meet the needs of the patient and family. The RN will function within the Mayo Clinic Nursing Professional Practice Model, which includes accountability for planning, implementing, evaluating and communicating all phases of nursing care for assigned patients. The ANA Nursing: Scope and Standards of Practice provide a basis for the practice of the RN. The RN provides leadership through activities such as preceptor role, informal and formal leadership roles, and quality improvement efforts. The RN delegates patient care according to skill level, experience, patient acuity, fiscal accountability and availability of resources. The RN possesses excellent communication skills; is skillful in mentoring and teaching; and may participate on committees or projects. A subset of employees may be required to drive their personal vehicle as a part of the responsibility of their role. For New Graduate Nurses: Please apply through the Nurse Residency Program posting, which is specifically designed to support New Graduate RNs. Within the Nurse Residency application process, you may indicate work units and specialties of interest. If selected to move forward, you will meet with a Nursing Placement Coordinator who will help you explore Mayo Clinic opportunities that are best aligned with your current and future professional goals. Together, we’ll identify a work area that provides an excellent foundation for your nursing career. This role is eligible for TN sponsorship. Successful sponsorship will require state licensure and completion of the VisaScreen or equivalent certification.
