Registered Nurse (RN) Inpatient Naval Medical Center Camp Lejeune, NC Naval Medical Center Camp Lejeune provides primary care and ancillary services toMarinesand Sailors Duty Hours: Services may be provided Monday through Sunday between the hours of 0645 to 1915 or 1845 to 0715. For full time employees, services shall be provided Monday through Sunday 0645-1915 or 1845-0715. Shall normally work six 12.5 hour shifts (including a 30 minute uncompensated meal break) and one 8.5 hour shift (including a 30 minute uncompensated meal break) per two week period. Will be required to work a rotating schedule, which includes, days, nights, weekends, and holidays. If desired permanent night shift then services would be provided Monday through Sunday 1845 to 0715 and one 8 hour shift during the two week period. The RNs shall be on duty in the department for about 40 hours each week. In no instance will be required to provide services in excess of 80 hours per 2-week period. Specific days, hours, and shift length will be scheduled by the designated government representative. Duties: Perform a full range of RN duties in accordance with assignment under the task order, including: triage; patient assessment and monitoring; use of patient monitoring and treatment equipment; appropriate nursing care, procedures, and treatments; execution of physicians’ orders within the guidelines of standard nursing practice; documentation of patient care and observations; and patient education and emotional support. Assess each patient and perform triage duties as assigned. Formulate and carry out a goal directed plan of care which is based on determined nursing diagnosis and patient outcomes and which is prioritized according to patient needs and available resources including time, personnel, equipment, and supplies. Evaluate effectiveness of self-care given by all health team members, and contribution of systems, environment, and instrumentation in progressing patient toward outcomes. Provide treatment and discharge instructions upon patient release. Perform assessment/data collection in an ongoing and systematic manner, focusing on physiological, psychological, and cognitive status. Provide a safe and clean environment for each patient. Ensure areas are stocked and properly equipped. Identify patient/significant other learning needs and implement appropriate measures to meet identified needs. Assist in planning, provide clinical direction, and provide instruction to LPNs/LVNs, nursing assistants and ancillary personnel. Precepting duties shall include mentoring, educating on hospital and unit policies and procedures, clinical bedside education, providing weekly input by documenting, updating, and providing feedback to the preceptee and chain of command as applicable. Patient care on this unit will include care of the adult or pediatric patient on continuous cardiac telemetry monitoring, according to established standards.
