About The Position

The Registered Nurse is responsible for providing professional nursing for patients following established standards and practices. Assists physicians and staff with the daily coordination of patient care and patient access. Coordinates patient flow, schedules appointments, procedures, tests and referrals. May serve as preceptor for clinical staff. Relies on experience and judgment to accomplish responsibilities. Works under minimal supervision. Creativity is expected to perform job. May lead and direct the work of others within scope of practice.

Requirements

• Graduate of accredited school of nursing
• Current Louisiana State license as RN
• BLS certification
• Proficient in the English language, verbal and written communication skills
• Computer skills

Responsibilities

• Provide professional nursing care for patients following established standards and practices.
• Assist physicians and staff with daily coordination of patient care and patient access.
• Coordinate patient flow, schedule appointments, procedures, tests, and referrals.
• Serve as preceptor for clinical staff as needed.
• Respond to changes in patient's needs and provide holistic care using independent clinical judgment.
• Advocate for patient rights and resolve conflicts as necessary.
• Document all patient care activities accurately per documentation standards.
• Communicate and collaborate with healthcare team members, patients, and families to maximize patient outcomes.
• Delegate patient care activities appropriately to other healthcare team members.
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives and incorporate evidence-based practice into nursing practice.
