About The Position

The Registered Nurse Applicant (RNA) will serve as a member of the healthcare team by establishing an authentic personalized relationship with the patient and patient representatives. The RNA will observe and collaborate with the Registered Nurse to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate an individualized plan of care that promotes patient-centered health. The RNA is supervised for the management and provision of care in accordance with current policies and procedures. Additionally, the RNA will document and provide assistance to patients under the direction and supervision of a registered nurse.

Requirements

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Holds a graduate temporary permit from the NCBON until the NCLEX is taken and full licensure is obtained.
• BCLS certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) or obtain AHA certification within three months of employment.
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree required within five years of employment for newly employed RNs or those promoted to RN positions, with certain exceptions noted.
• ACLS certification required within one year of employment for specific units (e.g., Birthing Center, Critical Care Unit, Emergency Dept., etc.).
• NRP certification required within one year of employment for specific units (e.g., Level III Nursery, Newborn Nursery).
• Chemotherapy certification via ONS/ONCC Chemo/Bio Course required within specified timeframes for certain units.
