The position is for the 32-Bed Orthopedic Specialty Surgical Unit located on the 7th floor of the Mass Mutual Building, which services a wide variety of patients, including those undergoing elective surgeries such as total hip replacements and knee replacements, as well as orthopedic trauma patients. The unit also sees patients with acute conditions associated with trauma, such as fractures and ligament tears.

Requirements

• Successfully passed Board of Registration in Nursing Examination.
• Licensed as a Registered Nurse in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
• Current American Heart Association Health Care Provider CPR certification required.
• Minimum 1 year of RN experience required.
• ADN required; BSN preferred.

Nice To Haves

• Experience in orthopedic nursing or surgical units.
• Certification in specialty nursing areas.

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality nursing care to patients in the orthopedic specialty surgical unit.
• Monitor patient conditions and administer medications as prescribed.
• Collaborate with healthcare team members to develop and implement patient care plans.
• Educate patients and their families about health conditions and post-operative care.
• Participate in the rehabilitation process for patients requiring physical therapy.
