The position is for a 32-Bed Orthopedic Specialty Surgical Unit located on the 7th floor of the Mass Mutual Building, which services a wide variety of patients, including those undergoing elective surgeries such as total hip replacements and knee replacements, as well as orthopedic trauma patients.

Requirements

• Successfully passed Board of Registration in Nursing Examination and is licensed in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
• Current American Heart Association Health Care Provider CPR certification required.
• Minimum 1 year RN experience required.
• Diploma in Nursing required; BSN preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care to a diverse patient population in an orthopedic specialty surgical unit.
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians.
• Monitor and assess patient conditions and report changes to the healthcare team.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement patient care plans.
• Educate patients and their families about health conditions and post-operative care.
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives and maintain compliance with safety standards.
