About The Position

This is a per diem infusion nurse position for a busy outpatient medical infusion clinic located at 330 Brookline Ave in Boston. The role requires two Saturday shifts per month. The Registered Nurse utilizes the nursing process to provide direct nursing care to patients and families, systematically assessing healthcare needs, formulating, implementing, and evaluating care plans. The nurse is expected to demonstrate decision-making by integrating theoretical knowledge with practical experience, coordinate patient care, and direct assistive personnel to ensure safe, effective, efficient, equitable, and timely patient-centered care. The position also involves demonstrating awareness of environmental forces on patient care, identifying necessary resources, and working collaboratively with other health professionals. Key aspects include developing trusting relationships with patients and families, effective communication, acting as a patient advocate, and maintaining professional development through mandatory education and quality improvement activities. The individual's nursing practice should align with the goals of Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, emphasizing responsibility and accountability for nursing practice and patient safety.

Requirements

Graduate of an accredited Nursing Program required.
1-3 years related work experience required.
License Registered Nurse required.
American Heart Association – Basic Life support Certificate required.
Ability to make decisions that are guided by general instructions and practices requiring some interpretation.

Ability to follow precedents and procedures.

Competent to provide patient care to Neonatal (Birth to 6 months), Young adult (16-30 years), Middle Age (30 - 60 years), Elderly (60 - over) age groups.
Work requires periods of close attention to work without interruption.
Concentrated effort of up to 4 hours without break may be required.
Work requires constant response to changing circumstances and using new information to adjust approach and to quickly respond to new needs.
