About The Position

In this role you will be: Assessing, planning, implementing, evaluating, and recording patient care in accordance with the medical and nursing plans of care. Participating in teaching and rehabilitation of the patient. Coordinating discharge planning in conjunction with other members of the health team. Directing and assisting with the Licensed Practical Nurse, Nursing Assistant, and Nursing Student in rendering care to patients. Working collaboratively with all members of the patient care team and provides leadership so that standards of professional nursing practice are maintained in the clinical setting. Able to respond quickly and appropriately to changes in patients’ clinical condition. Demonstrating the ability to function as a charge nurse as assigned. Demonstrating knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the span of life. Identifying age-specific needs and planning care accordingly. Maintaining responsibility and accountability for their individual professional practice and all actions as a licensed nurse for the quality of care delivered. Utilizing expert IV phlebotomy skills and the hospital computer system. Utilizing interpersonal communication skills to effectively communicate with patients, family, and other members of the healthcare team.

Requirements

  • EDUCATION: Graduate of an accredited nursing program
  • EXPERIENCE: 2-4 years chemo therapy experience preferred including port access and knowledge in the care of cancer patient
  • LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION: Possess current license as an RN in Pennsylvania, or must pass nursing boards within 6 months of hire
  • BLS required or obtained within 1 month of hire
  • Chemotherapy certification preferred
  • PICC line training required or obtained within 6 months of hire
