About The Position
The R.N. III maintains quality patient care through consistent standards of nursing practice in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team. This role utilizes the nursing process (assess, diagnosis, plan, implement, and evaluate) to execute appropriate individual patient care. The R.N. III is responsible for orientation, training/precepting, and mentoring of other staff on the unit, and is instrumental in providing an exceptional experience for patients and their families.
Requirements
- Diploma or Associate’s Degree in Nursing required
- Registered Nurse license in New York State
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Minimum of 6 months experience as a registered nurse
Nice To Haves
- Bachelor’s of Master’s Degree in Nursing preferred
Responsibilities
- Perform initial and ongoing assessment of the patient
- Demonstrate exceptional clinical judgment and advanced assessment skills
- Communicate and document assessment with interdisciplinary team
- Utilize all available resources in order to meet the needs of the patient and family
- Develop and document plan of care, treatment and services
- Collaborate interdisciplinary health team to deliver care
- Maintains an appropriate nurse-patient relationship and provides an exceptional experience for the patient and family
- Evaluate, communicate and document patient responses to care
- Revise plan of care based on ongoing evaluations
- Ensure the patient receives and understands education/training specific to their needs and abilities
- Provide training for new team members on the unit
- Assume role of teacher for nursing students and other students shadowing on the unit
- Act as a resource for other team members for both clinical and non-clinical matters
