This position is primarily responsible for providing direct patient care services to a diverse patient population through the administration of medication, counseling, and health maintenance. Assesses patient s health needs and resources, and provides technical nursing care and interventions to designated patient populations. Functions as charge nurse on the units as designated by Director of Nursing (DON) or designee. This position requires providing service to one or more age populations including adolescents and geriatric patients in a manner that demonstrates an understanding of the functional/developmental age of the individual served. In addition, nurses shall have the ability to assess, treat, and appropriately interact and care for individuals with mental health and substance use disorders. This position requires the full understanding and active participation in fulfilling the mission of Tarzana Treatment Centers, Inc. (TTC). The employee is expected to demonstrate behavior consistent with the core values. The employee shall support TTC s strategic plan, and the goals and direction of the Performance Improvement Plan (PIP). The RN II level is determined at the time of interview and through demonstration of competency in the RN I role. The RN II is the next level of advancement following an RN I and includes all the duties of the RN I. The RN II level includes the ability to perform the duties of charge nurse, safely oversight the nursing staff, and ensure the inpatient units are functioning at optimum levels of care and service. The RN II can make sound nursing and administrative decisions about patient care when administration is not on site. The RN lI has experience in behavioral health nursing care or has successfully demonstrated a sound understanding of nursing care for behavioral health and substance use disorder patients.
