About The Position
Main 6E Transplant is a dynamic 22-bed adult inpatient unit dedicated to caring for fresh post-operative solid organ abdominal transplant patients. Our nurses play a vital role in supporting kidney, liver, and kidney/pancreas transplant recipients through every stage of their journey, from pre-transplant preparation to post-transplant recovery. Work in both Intermediate/Stepdown and Acute Care settings, allowing you to broaden and strengthen your clinical skills. Intermediate Care nurses manage highly specialized patients with arterial lines and advanced drips. We invest in your success. All nurses become ACLS certified and trained in peritoneal dialysis within the first six months, building a strong clinical foundation that opens doors across the organization. While transplant is our core specialty, MH6E cares for a wide range of acute care patients, giving nurses continuous opportunities to learn and refine their practice. Requirements
- Bachelor of Nursing degree preferred.
- RN staff hired on or after July 1, 2013 with an Associate or Diploma degree in nursing are required to be enrolled in an accredited BSN program within two years and successfully obtain a BSN degree within four years of the RN hire or reclassification date. Refer to policy A141 for more details.
- A minimum of one year of work experience as a registered nurse required.
- Licensure as a registered nurse by the South Carolina Board of Nursing or a compact state.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) required, either a certification from an American Heart Association (AHA) BLS for Healthcare Providers (or AHA recognized equivalent) or an American Red Cross CPR/AED for Professional Rescuer and Healthcare Provider.
