Registered Nurse II - Peds Acute Care - Float Team ($15K Sign On Bonus)
About The Position
Meduflex is MUSC Charleston’s inpatient Float Pool, supporting a wide range of patient care units across the downtown campus. Spanning 10 specialized zones and serving both Adult and Pediatric populations, the team offers Registered Nurses (RNs) flexible scheduling and additional float differential pay. For this particular role, you'll have the opportunity to work across a variety of specialized pediatric units—including the Pediatric Acute Care Units, Pediatric Oncology Unit, Pediatric Cardiac Intermediate Unit, and Neonatal ICU—providing compassionate, high-quality care for up to Level 2 patients. You'll also have the chance to broaden your experience by supporting intermediate-level care in the Pediatric ICUs at Shawn Jenkins Children’s Hospital when needed. Under general supervision, the Registered Nurse II provides individualized, goal-directed patient care to families and patients at the competent level utilizing the principles and practices of the nursing process; delivers safe and effective care and interacts with other members of the health care team to achieve desired results.
Requirements
- Graduation from an accredited school of nursing
- Minimum of one year of pediatric acute care work experience as a registered nurse
- Licensure as a registered nurse by the South Carolina Board of Nursing or a compact state
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) required, either a certification from an American Heart Association (AHA) BLS for Healthcare Providers (or AHA recognized equivalent) or an American Red Cross CPR/AED for Professional Rescuer and Healthcare Provider
- Some positions require certification in Advanced Cardiac Life Support
Nice To Haves
- Bachelor of Nursing degree preferred.
- RN staff hired on or after July 1, 2013 with an Associate or Diploma degree in nursing are required to initiate education for BSN within 2 years and complete within four years of hire date.
