About The Position

The Registered Nurse II in the PACU/Recovery Unit at Cedars-Sinai Marina del Rey Hospital is responsible for providing monitored care to patients transitioning from anesthesia and/or surgical procedures. This role emphasizes patient safety, recovery, and the management of any complications that may arise during the post-anesthesia period. The position requires a commitment to excellence in patient care and participation in performance improvement activities.

Requirements

• Minimum of an Associate's Degree in Nursing.
• Current CA RN license.
• BLS certification through the American Heart Association.
• ACLS certification required.
• Minimum of 1 year of nursing experience, preferably in Critical Care.

Nice To Haves

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
• Critical Care experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Monitor patients in the immediate post-anesthesia unit, assessing their status as they emerge from anesthesia and safely regain consciousness.
• Provide direct patient care in the PACU according to the practice recommendations of the American Society of Peri-Anesthesia Nurses (ASPAN).
• Focus on the patient's recovery from anesthesia and the return to baseline vital signs, considering the procedure, anesthesia care, patient comorbidities, and physical status.
• Recognize, minimize, and manage any issues or complications during the recovery process.
• Participate in performance improvement activities.
