About The Position

Located on the sixth floor of the Tower at Freeman Hospital West, the ICU Step-Down Unit (TCU) is a 20-bed unit that provides care for high acuity patients requiring close monitoring. The unit emphasizes understanding the 'why' behind patient care. The position involves independently performing systematic and continuous assessments of the physical, emotional, clinical, and psychosocial needs of assigned patients and families, planning and implementing appropriate interventions, and evaluating effectiveness while adjusting the care plan as necessary to ensure safe and effective care.

Requirements

• Current Missouri Registered Nurse license or current Registered Nurse license from a compact state.
• If a compact license is held, it must be in the nurse’s state of residence.

Responsibilities

• Independently perform systematic and continuous assessment of the physical, emotional, clinical, and psychosocial needs of assigned patients and families.
• Plan and implement appropriate interventions based on the medical plan of care.
• Evaluate the effectiveness of interventions and adjust the care plan as indicated in a timely manner.
