Registered Nurse I (Spring 2026 New Grad Blitz) - Meduflex Adult and Pediatric Acute Care
About The Position
Meduflex is MUSC Charleston’s inpatient Float Pool, supporting a wide range of patient care units across the downtown campus. Spanning 10 specialized zones and serving both Adult and Pediatric populations. If you are interested in either of the units listed below, please apply to this posting by Wednesday, January 14th. Pediatric Acute Care As a Registered Nurse I in the Pediatric Acute Care Zone, you will float between the Pediatric Acute Care Units, Pediatric Oncology Unit, Pediatric Cardiac Intermediate Unit, and Neonatal ICU to provide care for up to Level 2 patients. Upon promotion to Registered Nurse II, Pediatric Acute Care RNs will receive additional training to care for higher-acuity patients in the NICU and Pediatric ICUs. Adult Acute Care As a Registered Nurse I in the Adult Acute Care Zone, you will float between Cardiac, Gastrointestinal, Neurology, Transplant, Oncology, General Medical and Surgical floors in both Main Hospital and Ashley River Tower Hospital. Upon promotion to Registered Nurse II, Adult Acute Care RNs will receive additional training to care for higher-acuity patients in our Intermediate Zone. Job Summary/Purpose: Under general supervision, the Registered Nurse I (New Graduate) assists at the advanced beginner level in providing individualized, goal directed nursing care to patients and families utilizing principles and practices of the nursing process; interacts with other members of the health care team to achieve desired outcomes.
Requirements
- Bachelor of Nursing degree preferred.
- RN staff hired on or after July 1, 2013 with an Associate or Diploma degree in nursing are required to be enrolled in an accredited BSN program within two years and successfully obtain a BSN degree within four years of the RN hire or reclassification date.
- Licensure as a registered nurse by the South Carolina Board of Nursing or a compact state.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) required, either a certification from an American Heart Association (AHA) BLS for Healthcare Providers (or AHA recognized equivalent) or an American Red Cross CPR/AED for Professional Rescuer and Healthcare Provider.
