About The Position

As a new grad Registered Nurse I, you will provide direct and indirect patient care in the acute care setting. Your role is to communicate with physicians/Nursing Unit Director/Charge Nurses/co-workers as appropriate about changes in patient’s clinical condition. This includes hemodynamic monitoring, results of diagnostic studies, and symptomatology. The ideal candidate will be able to respond quickly and accurately to changes in condition or response to treatment. This posting is for the April 27, 2026 New Graduate Registered Nurse Residency. We are pleased to offer an exciting opportunity for new graduate nurses to join our organization as part of the RN New Graduate Residency Program, in preparation for the opening of our new hospital in Winter 2026. Our current hospital will remain fully operational until the transition to the new facility is complete, ensuring continuity of care and training throughout the move. This is an exciting opportunity to be among the first group of nurses hired and trained to help build and grow our future teams. All nurse residents will begin their training within the Medical-Surgical Float Pool. This structure provides new graduates with the opportunity to gain comprehensive experience across multiple units and patient populations. Through this model residents will develop essential clinical skills, strengthen their confidence, and prepare for a successful transition into professional nursing practice. Initial Placement: All residents will be assigned to the Medical-Surgical Float Pool during the residency period. Unit and Shift Assignment: Specific unit and shift placements cannot be guaranteed. Assignments may include day or night shifts based on organizational needs. Preceptorship Scheduling: Precepted shifts will be determined in alignment with preceptor availability. Scheduling Flexibility: We will work with new grads to accommodate significant life events (e.g., graduations, weddings), however all participants are expected to maintain full scheduling/shift/unit flexibility during the first 4–5 months of the program to ensure comprehensive training and development. This residency program offers new graduates the opportunity to begin their nursing careers in a supportive, growth-oriented environment while contributing to the development of our new hospital’s care teams and culture. We look forward to welcoming the next generation of nurses who are eager to grow, learn, and make a meaningful impact on our patients and community! Overall, the training programs will be approximately 12 months of hands-on and classroom training, as well as being paired up with a seasoned RN Preceptor. Key highlights: The Vizient/AACN Residency Program is a one year-long program that meets best practice recommendations to successfully support new graduate nurses as they transition to professional practice. There will be monthly seminars that combine didactic learning with hands-on skills training and group discussions. There is an evidence-based practice project that nurse residents will complete over the twelve months focusing on a topic that is pertinent to your unit. You will have dedicated site and system residency coordinators to support you throughout the program and beyond.
