About The Position

The position is for a part-time Registered Nurse (RN) at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center, specifically in the Nursing Med Surg: 7 Reynolds Cardiology department. The role involves engaging in unit councils, professional governance, and quality initiatives to improve care processes and apply evidence-based practices. The RN will utilize the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care, engaging patients and families from admission to post-discharge. Responsibilities include monitoring patient conditions, adjusting care plans, mobilizing resources, and collaborating with the care team to influence care outcomes. The RN will uphold and promote a culture of safety, continuously evaluate patient, team, and unit outcomes, and take action as needed. The position requires administering medications, treatments, and therapies safely according to clinical protocols and procedures, demonstrating effective communication, feedback, and conflict resolution, and fostering team collaboration. The RN is expected to pursue professional development, complete required education, and maintain certifications while adhering to the ANA Code of Ethics and practicing ethical decision-making. The role may require floating to other units, departments, or facilities within the designated service area to meet patient care needs.

Requirements

  • Active, unrestricted registered nurse (RN) multi-state compact and/or single-state license.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • Graduate of a Board of Nursing approved nursing education program.
  • Strong clinical judgment and critical thinking skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Proficiency in operating computer functions.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing (BSN).
