About The Position

The position is part-time within the Emergency Department at Atrium Health Floyd Medical Center. The role requires working 36 hours per schedule period, with a pay range of $34.90 - $52.35. The responsibilities include engaging in unit councils, professional governance, and quality initiatives to improve care processes and apply evidence-based practices. The nurse will utilize the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care, engaging patients and families from admission to post-discharge. The position also involves monitoring patient conditions, adjusting care plans, mobilizing resources, and collaborating with the care team to influence care outcomes. The nurse must uphold and promote a culture of safety, continuously evaluate patient, team, and unit outcomes, and take action as needed. Other responsibilities include administering medications, treatments, and therapies safely, demonstrating effective communication, and pursuing professional development.

Requirements

  • Active, unrestricted registered nurse (RN) multi-state compact and/or single-state license.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • Graduate of a Board of Nursing approved nursing education program.
  • No formal RN experience required.
  • Strong clinical judgment and critical thinking skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Proficiency in operating computer functions.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing (BSN).
