The State of Vermont is currently hiring entry-level Registered Nurses within our Vermont Psychiatric Care Hospital in Berlin! This position is a great opportunity for new or soon to be Registered Nurses who would like to develop a specialty in behavioral health. Additional mentoring and oversight will be given in the course of your daily work. As a Registered Nurse, you will be responsible for assessment, evaluation, and coordination of care and services to individuals experiencing psychiatric illnesses. Care and treatment may involve individuals with a variety of physical, emotional, mental and/or psychiatric disabilities. The Registered Nurse will also be responsible for developing individualized nursing care plans, administering prescribed treatments and medications, and collaboration with community health services and families. This position is eligible for full retirement after 20 years of service in eligible positions in recognition of the challenges of front-line mental health work.
