About The Position

This is a Full Time Days Registered Nurse position in Cardiopulmonary Rehab. The role involves assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating nursing care, utilizing the nursing process in accordance with hospital standards and unit policies/procedures for the purpose of monitoring and evaluating patient functional status. The ideal candidate will have knowledge and experience related to cardiovascular disease processes and interventions, strong ECG rhythm interpretation skills, a passion for patient education, and enjoy working in a multidisciplinary team. Strong communication skills with providers and a desire for professional growth are also valued.

Requirements

  • Has completed the basic professional curricula of a school of nursing as approved and verified by a state board of nursing, and holds or is entitled to hold a diploma or degree therefrom.
  • Valid multi-state or State of Oklahoma Registered Nurse License.
  • 0 - 6 months related experience.
  • Working knowledge of general disease state management processes, bio-psychosocial model, and clinical pathways.
  • Effective interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to organize and prioritize work in an effective and efficient manner.
  • Ability to be detail oriented as required in the examination of clinical and numerical data.
  • Knowledge and experience related to cardiovascular disease processes and cardiovascular interventions (PCI, CABG, Valve Replacements, etc.)
  • Strong ECG rhythm interpretation skills
  • Passionate about delivering patient education
  • Enjoys working on a team comprised of multidisciplinary professionals (RTs, Exercise Specialists, etc.)
  • Strong communication skills with providers and provider offices
  • Desire to learn and grow professional / become involved with state and national organizations related to CVP Rehab

Responsibilities

  • Utilizes the nursing process to care for patients.
  • Assesses, organizes, and completes patient care with consideration for patient age, cultural and psychosocial factors.
  • Documents steps of the nursing process.
  • Utilizes proper medical terminology.
  • Addresses problems and progress toward goals.
  • Facilitates patient discharge through timely, appropriate referrals and utilization of patient education resources, suitable to patient age and cultural/psychosocial factors.
  • Collaborates with other disciplines as appropriate.
  • Supports unit/hospital goals through PI and educational activities as evidenced by attending in-services, meeting unit education standards, and completing variance reports.
