About The Position

The Nursing Supervisor reports to the Director of Nursing Operations and is the designated leader for nursing units during after hours, holidays and weekends. He/She is responsible for assisting the directors/managers with staffing the nursing units, reassigning staff, call-in/call-off, problems involving staff and/or patients, bed assignments, logs and administrative reports, and administrative representative during after-hours and weekends. Assumes authority for all nursing services in absence of the CNO, DNO or Directors/Managers. The Nurse Manager plans, organizes, directs, coordinates, and evaluates the unit activities. He/She provides assistance, direction, support and guidance to the charge nurses and nursing staff as needed.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree or Equivalent Work Experience.
• 6 years progressive work experience.
• 1 year management experience.
• State licensure and/or professional certification requirement/s dependent on position.
• Current American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or American Red Cross BLS for Healthcare Providers certification.

Responsibilities

• Assist directors/managers with staffing the nursing units.

• Handle call-in/call-off situations.
• Address problems involving staff and/or patients.
• Manage bed assignments and logs.
• Prepare administrative reports.
• Act as administrative representative during after-hours and weekends.
• Assume authority for all nursing services in absence of the CNO, DNO or Directors/Managers.
• Plan, organize, direct, coordinate, and evaluate unit activities.
• Provide assistance, direction, support, and guidance to charge nurses and nursing staff.
