About The Position

As an Emergency department RN at Amberwell Atchison, you will deliver exceptional patient care alongside a team of dedicated healthcare professionals. The House Supervisor will be responsible for staff, management, and coordination of all activities for the scheduled working shift in accordance with established philosophy, objectives, and policies of the hospital to ensure safe, efficient, and therapeutic patient care. The House Supervisor will relate effectively with other shifts and department leaders for continuity of care and services and is the Administration representative while on shift. Requirements

  • Experience in the healthcare setting with exceptional communication skills
  • Completion of accredited ADN program
  • Registered Nurse in the state of Kansas or compact license
  • BLS, ACLS, PALS, must have within 90 days of hire

Nice To Haves

  • 12-year experience working in emergency care or acute care setting
  • Completion of an accredited BSN program
  • TNCC, NIHSS, must have within 6 months of hire

Responsibilities

  • Triage patients quickly and accurately, assessing and prioritizing needs
  • Work collaboratively with doctors, Advanced Practice Providers and other healthcare team members to provide exceptional patient care
  • Communicate effectively, with all members/ departments of the healthcare team
  • Provide evidenced based care to patients of all ages utilizing the nursing process
  • Perform ordered diagnostic testing
  • Administer medications as ordered
  • Evaluate patient response to intervention/therapy based upon expected outcomes.
  • Manage multiple patients simultaneously, prioritizing patient needs continually
  • Delegate tasks appropriately
  • Maintain accurate and timely patient documentation
  • Provide discharge and follow up education, and instructions to patients
  • Comply with all legal and safety requirements at all times
  • Attend all required training and continuing education
  • Provide excellent customer service at all times
  • Manages activities, patient care, and the execution of hospital policies during the scheduled shift.
  • Reviews staffing patterns, verifies attendance, and assists with staffing coverage as needed.
  • Informs departmental leaders of staff activities, needs, problems, and unusual events.
  • Investigates and reports complaints from patients, visitors, and employees.
  • Monitor and facilitate patient flow in and out of the hospital.
  • Guiding and advising clinical staff with clinical instructions
  • Communicating with patients, nurses, other healthcare professionals, family members, and visitors
