About The Position

JOB SUMMARY The Registered Nurse-Hospital Float performs RN duties in multiple departments as assigned on a routine “fill-in” basis, and functions as a vital member of the healthcare team by demonstrating a customer/patient focus, effective communication, professionalism and self-development, and teamwork. The individual utilizes the nursing process to assess, plan, implement and evaluate comprehensive care provided to selected patient populations and their families. The Registered Nurse-Hospital is expected to demonstrate excellent clinical, problem-solving, interpersonal and leadership skills and make decisions consistent with hospital policies, department protocols/guidelines, and the Wisconsin Nurse Practice Act. JOB QUALIFICATIONS EDUCATION For positions requiring education beyond a high school diploma or equivalent, educational qualifications must be from an institution whose accreditation is recognized by the Council for Higher Education and Accreditation. Minimum Required: Diploma or degree in nursing.

Requirements

  • Diploma or degree in nursing.
  • Current unrestricted State of Wisconsin Registered Nurse license.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification awarded by the American Heart Association (AHA) within one month of employment.
  • Additional Consortium-specific certifications, licenses, or memberships may be required.
  • Employee may not at any time have been or be excluded from participation in any federally funded program, including Medicare and Medicaid.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in nursing.
  • Two years hospital nursing experience, specific to consortium.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification awarded by the American Heart Association (AHA) at time of hire.
