About The Position

GIP Hospice Nurse The GIP (General Inpatient) Hospice Nurse provides compassionate, high‑acuity end‑of‑life care to patients experiencing complex symptoms that cannot be managed in the home setting. This role focuses on rapid assessment, symptom stabilization, and close collaboration with the interdisciplinary team to ensure comfort, dignity, and support for both patients and families. The GIP nurse delivers skilled clinical interventions, clear communication, and emotional guidance while maintaining the highest standards of hospice philosophy and patient‑centered care. Requirements

  • Current RN License in the state of practice
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification for healthcare providers
  • Valid driver’s license with reliable transportation, acceptable driving record, and current auto insurance
  • Effective Communication Skills – Ability to communicate clearly and professionally with patients, families, and healthcare teams
  • Experience: RNs with less than 12 months of experience as an RN must complete their BSN within five years of their start date.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (BSN)
  • One year of RN experience in Acute Care, Home Health, or Hospice settings
  • Experience in Wound Care, IV Therapy, or Medication Management

Responsibilities

  • Patient Care: Provide hands-on nursing care, including medication administration, wound care, and IV therapy to patients in their homes.
  • Assessment and Evaluation: Assess patients' physical and emotional conditions, develop care plans, and ensure safe and effective care delivery.
  • Education: Educate patients and caregivers on disease management, treatment plans, and medication administration.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with physicians, therapists, and other healthcare providers to coordinate care and optimize patient outcomes.
  • Emergency Response: Be prepared to manage emergencies and provide quick, responsive care when needed.
  • Documentation: Accurately document patient assessments, treatments, and outcomes using electronic medical records (EMR) systems.
  • Weekend Coverage: Provide care on Saturdays and Sundays from 9:00 AM to 9:00 PM on an alternating schedule.
