About The Position

The Registered Nurse (RN) with Homecare is a professional caregiver who assumes responsibility and accountability for assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating care of Hospice/Home Health adult and pediatric patients and their families in their home setting. The RN provides the best clinical practice in an environment of caring and healing while working autonomously in the home. Utilizing the nursing process, the RN delivers care in compliance with hospice/home health policies and procedures, legal and regulatory standards. The RN utilizes the nursing process by use of technology, therapeutic intervention, evidence-based practice, and coordination of care with other health team members. Requirements

  • Current RN License in state of practice.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification for healthcare providers.
  • Current driver’s license, insured and reliable transportation and an acceptable driving record
  • Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
  • RNs with less than 12 months of working experience as an RN prior to joining Intermountain must obtain their BSN within 4 years of their start date.
  • Ability to read and interpret information, labels, and patient needs while operating monitors and identifying equipment and supplies.
  • Frequent interactions with patients, visitors, and healthcare providers require effective verbal communication and the ability to hear and respond to alarms, urgent needs, and issues quickly, especially in emergencies.
  • Skilled hand and finger movements are necessary to manipulate delicate equipment accurately, including frequent computer use for documentation, accessing patient records, medication preparation, and vehicle operation.
  • Must be able to lift, bend, carry supplies, and assist in patient transfers, often handling items of varying weights, including heavy objects.
  • Expected to walk, assist with patient mobility, and move medical equipment.
  • Must navigate crowded or complex environments and ascend/descend stairs or uneven surfaces when needed.
  • Regular driving for patient visits requires sitting for extended periods, reading traffic signs, and safely operating a vehicle

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN)
  • Two years working as an RN
  • Previous experience in an Acute Care, Home Health, or Hospice setting

Responsibilities
