About The Position

AdvisaCare, a fast-paced, established Home Health / Medicare Agency, is seeking full-time Skilled Registered Nurses (RN) to provide one-on-one patient care in the Greater Cassopolis and surrounding areas, including Berrien, Cass, St. Joseph, and Van Buren counties. The role emphasizes a holistic and patient-driven approach, focusing on real conversations and connections, unlike traditional facility nursing. The position involves home care visits and shift work, allowing nurses to truly care for one patient at a time. The agency is expanding its Medicare Division and also offers LPN Skilled Visits under the supervision of an RN. The role includes various skilled tasks such as wound care (including Wound Vacs, Drains, Tubes, All Ostomies, Traches, Catheters, Plurex drains, Infusions, and LVADs). Training is provided to enhance skills as needed. Getting to know patients, providing one-on-one education to them and their caregivers, and coordinating with the entire Home Health Team are key aspects of the role.

Requirements

  • Current Michigan Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)
  • Demonstrated knowledge and skills to provide care to and communicate with all ages of the population
  • Updated Tuberculin (TB) test and current CPR certification required
  • Clear Criminal History/Drug Screen
  • Compassionate and caring demeanor, with a professional presentation at all times
  • Ability to travel within service area of AdvisaCare (approximately a 30 mile radius from your home)
  • Critical thinking, task competence and the ability to think on your feet is needed

Nice To Haves

  • OASIS Experienced Registered Nurse preferred
  • Minimum one (1) year of Home Health nursing experience preferred

Responsibilities

  • Provide care and service to patients

  • Get to know patients personally
  • Provide one-on-one education to patients and their caregivers
