About the Staff Nurse Role and Gynecology Clinic Two Years of RN Experience Strongly Preferred Experience in GYN Preferred The Gynecology Clinic at Massachusetts General Hospital has over 25 providers and see approximately 2000 patients per month. We are mainly a consultative practice that see patients with gynecology complications. Our specialty clinics include Vulvar Clinic, Colposcopy Clinic, Resident Clinic, Family Planning, Minimally Invasive Gynecological surgery and Urogynecology. Our RNs work closely with MDs and APPs (NP). The staff nurse ensures proficient, conscientious nursing care. As a primary nurse is responsible and accountable for the overall nursing care management of patients. The RN collaborates with the primary physician, members of the patient care team, support staff and nurse manager to achieve efficient patient outcomes. Identifies, facilitates, and evaluates outcomes of nursing care for an individual patient or group of patients. Communicates the plan of care and other pertinent information to and from other health team members. Participates in and contributes to performance improvement activities for the unit. Participates in teaching, education and directs all nursing personnel for whom she/he is responsible if applicable. Participates in orientation of new permanent and temporary staff members. Skills and Experience for a Staff Nurse 2 years of relevant nursing experience (med-surg, ambulatory, inpatient) required. Experience in OB/GYN and/or ambulatory experience preferred. Job Summary Summary Accountable for interpreting the plan of medical care, assessment of patients' clinical decision-making regarding nursing care, assuring nursing care is provided in a safe and competent manner, providing individualized nursing care, and evaluating nursing care for groups of patients.
