We offer our Graduate Registered Nurses clinical instruction and additional learning opportunities as they complete the yearlong Nurse Resident program. A4 is a 31-bed pre and post-op inpatient surgical unit dedicated to providing the highest quality of care. Our team is comprised of new graduate and experienced nurses, nursing leaders and healthcare professionals who thrive in a fast-paced, supportive environment. Our unit consists of patients recovering from general surgical to state-of-the-art orthopedic, bariatric, GI, Women's Health and medical patients.

Requirements

• Graduate of a school of Nursing.
• BSN preferred.
• One (1) year RN experience and/or successful completion of the Backus Hospital Nurse Residency Program.
• Current unrestricted license in good standing to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of Connecticut.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) upon hire.

Nice To Haves

• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates clinical competence through utilization of the nursing process and development of a synergistic nurse-patient relationship.
• Assesses and identifies patient problems/needs.
• Establishes a plan of care.
• Implements and evaluates care provided to patients.
