Unit 3-1, our General, Urology and Colorectal Surgery unit is a fast-paced, patient-focused surgical unit specializing in care for individuals undergoing general, urologic, and colorectal procedures, as well as patients with renal disease, including peritoneal dialysis (PD) at the bedside. This is a Telemetry Class 2 floor, providing continuous cardiac monitoring as needed. Most patients are post-operative surgical cases arriving from PACU, with some direct admits from surgeons' offices or the ED. Common Interventions include: Drain and wound management Wound vacs, G-tubes, J-tubes Ostomies and urostomies Peritoneal dialysis Continuous bladder irrigation Occasional chest tubes Position Purpose As a Registered Nurse, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality, evidence-based care to surgical patients.
