About The Position

Bon Secours is a network dedicated to providing excellent care through exceptional people. The Registered Nurse (RN) position in the ICU at St. Mary's Hospital is responsible for delivering exceptional nursing care to patients. This role requires strong organizational and leadership skills to assess patient status, determine priorities, implement clinical nursing interventions, and develop patient care plans to enhance outcomes. The position is available for full-time, part-time, and PRN roles, with day and night shifts available.

Requirements

  • Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN).
  • 1 year of RN experience (required).
  • 6 months RN experience in a Med/Surg, Critical Care, Stepdown, or Emergency Department Unit (preferred).
  • BLS Basic Life Support or ACLS Advanced Cardiac Life Support (preferred at hire, must obtain prior to direct patient care).
  • PALS Pediatric Advanced Life Support (preferred at hire, required in lieu of BLS/ACLS for Pediatric Units).

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (preferred, not required).
  • 6 months RN experience in a Med/Surg, Critical Care, Stepdown, or Emergency Department Unit (preferred).

Responsibilities

  • Deliver exceptional nursing care to patients in the ICU.
  • Utilize strong organizational and leadership skills to assess patient status.
  • Determine the priority of the patient's problems and needs.
  • Implement clinical nursing interventions for acute, critical patients requiring intensive medical care.
  • Develop and perform patient care plans to enhance and improve outcomes.
  • Ensure a safe and therapeutic environment.
  • Collaborate with the interdisciplinary care team.
  • Conduct and analyze initial and ongoing patient assessments.
  • Create a plan of care, implement treatment, and evaluate treatment effectiveness.
  • Synthesize and prioritize information to take immediate and decisive evidence-based actions.
  • Anticipate and respond to rapidly changing patient conditions with confidence.
  • Administer medications safely according to state practice and organizational policies.
