As a Freestanding Emergency Room Registered Nurse with Methodist ER City Base, you will coordinate and deliver high quality, patient-centered care in accordance with the nature and specific requirements of the department. You will collaborate with medical providers and other members of the care team to provide individualized, comprehensive, and compassionate care using established nursing models. The RN serves as an advocate for patients/families/caregivers and models a commitment to the organization's vision/mission/values to support an unparalleled patient experience and clinical outcomes.

  • Assess patient pain regularly to promote effective pain management, including reassessments after appropriate intervention.
  • Perform procedures, monitoring, or other functions as ordered by the medical provider(s). Document the administration of care in the patient medical record in a timely and thorough manner.
  • Perform exceptional care by responding promptly to patient requests and anticipating patient needs.
  • Teach patients/families/caregivers about patient medical condition, treatment plan, medications and possible side effects, and follow-up measures.
  • Translate complex medical terminology to ensure complete understanding for patients/families/caregivers.
  • Prepare patients and families/caregivers for future self-management regarding non-medicinal follow-up measures.
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 90 days of employment start date.
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
  • Emergency Nurse Pediatric Course must be obtained within 60 months of employment start date.
  • PALS Pediatric Advanced Life Support must be obtained within 90 days of employment start date.
  • Trauma Nursing Core Course must be obtained within 1 year of employment start date.
  • Registered Nurse with at least 6-months of RN Experience.
  • Associate Degree, Bachelor's Degree, or Registered Nurse Diploma.
