About The Position

Overview We are seeking a Float Pool Registered Nurse (RN) at St. Mary’s Medical Center ! Must have at least a year of hospital experience.

Requirements

  • C urrent and valid state RN License
  • C urrent BLS certificate upon hire and maintain current
  • Must have at least a year of hospital experience.

Nice To Haves

  • C urrent ACLS certificate 30 days upon hire and maintain current
  • P revious Acute Care hospital experience
  • V entilator management experience
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)

Responsibilities

  • Perform cardiac monitoring, observe telemetry monitors to track heart rhythms, recognize, and report arrhythmias or other significant changes to the patient’s condition
  • Address a broad range of conditions such as infections, diabetes, post-operative recovery, or chronic illnesses
  • Monitor of vital signs such as heart rate, blood pressure, oxygen saturation, and conduct detailed physical assessments to detect subtle changes in condition
  • Administer medications, particularly those used for managing cardiac conditions (such as antiarrhythmics, beta-blockers, or anticoagulants) and pain management, infection control (e.g., antibiotics), or chronic disease management
  • Manage IV lines, administer fluids, and monitoring hydration levels; ensure correct dosages and observe for potential interactions or side effects
  • Teach patients about heart-healthy practices, conditions, medications, post-discharge care and follow-up care
  • Provide guidance on the importance of lifestyle changes to improve cardiac health, discharge instructions, and lifestyle recommendations to prevent readmission
