The RN in the Float Pool is the basic level of professional nursing practice. She/he identifies and implements nursing interventions that have less predictable outcomes and evaluates the results of these interventions for a given patient population. A nurse at this level may be required to assume leadership responsibility. Nurses in our Float Pool serve patients on the following units: ER ICU (those that are trained) Ambulatory Care Department Med/Surg Women and Children’s Schedule 48 hours every 2 weeks Rotating day, evening and night shifts with a mix of 8-hour and 12-hour shifts Every 3rd weekend (12-hour shifts) Rotating holidays
