About The Position
The Float Pool Registered Nurse (RN) provides safe, high-quality patient care using the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation. The Float RN is a versatile clinician who may be assigned to two or more units based on patient care needs and maintains competency to practice across all assigned units. Requirements
- Current and valid state RN License
- Current BLS (ARC/AHA) certificate upon hire and maintain current.
- Current ACLS (ARC/AHA) certificate 30 days upon hire and maintain current.
- Current PALS (ARC/AHA) certificate 30 days upon hire and maintain current.
- Minimum of one year experience as a staff RN in an acute care hospital setting preferred.
- Able to float to two (2) or more units and maintain competency within assigned areas.
Nice To Haves
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
Responsibilities
- Deliver direct patient care within the RN scope of practice.
- Utilize the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care.
- Maintain competency and provide care in two or more units based on organizational needs.
- Direct and guide patient and family education regarding care plans and treatment.
- Supervise and collaborate with other nursing personnel to maintain high-quality patient care.
- Communicate with physicians regarding changes in patient condition, diagnostic results, and symptomatology.
- Respond promptly and accurately to changes in patient condition or response to treatment.
- Maintain patient privacy and confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA and organizational policies.

- A reasonable compensation estimate for this role, which includes estimated wages, benefits, and other forms of compensation, is $41.24 to $52.00.
