Registered Nurse - Float Pool The Float Pool Registered Nurse is a highly skilled practitioner who provides direct and indirect nursing care to residents and families in the Acute Care Units (Cardiology, Medical Oncology, Medical Surgical Services) Spinal Cord Injury Units, Polytrauma Units, Community Living Center (CLC), Palliative Care/Hospice, and the Emergency Department. Demonstration of knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age-related needs and specific care of the patients served in the assigned area of practice. Responsible for management of patient duties related to admissions, pre-procedure care, post-procedure care and bedside procedures. Collaborates with an interdisciplinary team to manage holistic patient centered care as dictated by the patient's medical and surgical needs. Cardiac/Telemetry Monitoring is part of this position and can/will be trained upon hire. Proficient in Advanced Vascular Access Care and Maintenance. BLS & ACLS certification is required for this position and can be obtained upon hire. Facilitation of Homecare referrals and recommendations to support ongoing veteran needs. Professional communication and conduct. Recognizes and supports Suicide Prevention initiatives. Compliance with various Isolation Precautions and Infection Control Guidelines. Skills in time management, priority setting, assessment and urgent intervention are essential for this unit. Maintains prevention & management of disruptive behavior skills, can be trained upon hire. Participation in High Reliability Organization (HRO) & Professional Governance initiatives.
