Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing
• BSN required
• Current License as RN in the State of Texas
• ACLS required
• Current CNOR and certificate of completion of the First Assistant Course or CRNFA through the National Assistant in Surgery Certification
• BLS certification must be obtained within 14 days of hire or transfer into the role and prior to providing direct patient care.
• Previous acute care or perioperative experience required
• 2000 hours of experience.

Responsibilities

• The CRNFA practices in collaboration with and at the direction of the surgeon during the intraoperative phase of the perioperative experience.
• The CRNFA influences multidisciplinary relationships by enhancing collaborative processes.
• Other duties as assigned
