About The Position

ISO Workforce Alliance is currently seeking a Licensed Registered Nurse First Assistant (RNFA) in the state of Illinois with a minimum of two years of operating room experience. This role is ideal for a highly skilled perioperative nurse who is comfortable working in fast-paced surgical environments and assisting surgeons across a variety of procedures while maintaining the highest standards of patient safety and surgical care.

Requirements

  • Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of Illinois
  • Certified Registered Nurse First Assistant (RNFA)
  • Minimum of 2 years of operating room experience
  • Current BLS and ACLS certification
  • Strong knowledge of surgical procedures, sterile technique, and perioperative patient care
  • Excellent communication, teamwork, and clinical decision-making skills

Nice To Haves

  • Experience assisting in General Surgery
  • Experience assisting in Orthopedic Surgery
  • Experience assisting in Endoscopic procedures
  • Experience working in high-volume surgical environments

Responsibilities

  • Function as a Registered Nurse First Assistant during surgical procedures
  • Provide direct surgical assistance to the operating surgeon including tissue handling, suturing, and maintaining hemostasis
  • Assist with preoperative patient preparation, intraoperative procedures, and postoperative patient care
  • Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, surgical technologists, and operating room staff to support efficient surgical workflow
  • Ensure adherence to hospital policies, surgical protocols, and infection control standards
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation of surgical procedures and patient care
