About The Position

Atlantic Health System is seeking a full-time Registered Nurse First Assist (RNFA) to join the surgical team at Newton Medical Center. This position includes three 12-hour shifts (7AM - 7PM) with a weekday/weekend split call requirement. The RNFA will join two experienced team members supporting a growing surgical department. Newton Medical Center is home to a new robotics program, and the department continues to expand. Responsibilities

Candidate will have the ability to utilize the nursing process to assess, diagnose, plan, implement and evaluate the plan of care for patients served.
Through the model of Shared Governance, collaborate with all members of the health care team with a focus on promoting evidenced based care within a healing culture for the patient population served and their families.

The responsibilities of the Registered Nurse First Assist is to collaborate with the surgeon during surgical procedures.
Apply principles of sepsis and infection control, knowledge of surgical anatomy, physiology, and operative technique relative to operative procedures.
