About The Position

Inova Loudoun Hospital is looking for a dedicated experienced Registered Nurse Fellow to transition to the Observation Unit. This role will be full-time night shift from Monday – Friday (including some weekends), 7:00 p.m. – 7:00 a.m. Sign-on bonus and relocation assistance available for eligible nurses. The Observation Unit at Inova Loudoun Hospital is a 27-bed unit with a rapid patient turnover of admission and discharges. The patient population consists of cardiac, neurological, medical, and surgical patients. Learn the fast-paced atmosphere of an ER setting while gaining critical medical/surgical nursing skills. Requirements

  • BSN from an accredited school of nursing. If RN has an associate’s degree (ADN); must complete BSN within 5 years of start date.
  • Requires a minimum of 1-year Registered Nurse clinical experience in the acute care setting.
  • Currently licensed as a Registered Nurse in the State of Virginia or hold a privilege to practice in the State of Virginia under the Enhanced Nurse Licensure Compact (eNLC).
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Provider certification from the American Heart Association required upon start.

Responsibilities

  • Performs comprehensive patient health assessments by interpreting multiple data sets and synthesizing their relationships.
  • Formulates individualized plans of care based on assessment findings and interpreting trends in patient populations to achieve best practice.
  • Conducts all patient care in a patient and family centered manner, integrating knowledge, skills and experiences to meet the needs of patients and families throughout the continuum of care.
  • Advocates for patients' rights from the patient and family perspective and provides counsel while acting as a resource to resolve issues.
  • Accesses resources from all disciplines to achieve desired patient outcomes and coordinates healthcare and alternate services for patient/family transition planning.
  • Documents all patient care activities, as per documentation standards, and assists healthcare team members with documentation.
  • Evaluates the process to achieve outcomes, anticipates patient variances and makes revisions to plans of care.
  • Makes clinical decisions based on experience, patient population data and intuition while promoting the development of clinical decision making of all team members.
