About the position

Our enhanced critical care program connects critical care patients, families, nurses, and physicians with specialists from Mayo Clinic 24x7, enabling real-time consultations and broad application of evidence-based care. The Enhanced Critical Care consists of telemedicine monitoring technology in which nurses and intensivists remotely monitor critically ill patients from the Enhanced Critical Care Operations Center. The health care team collaboratively works with other physicians, nurses, NPs or PAs at the other healthcare sites. The system encompasses a software platform that incorporates patients’ healthcare records, vital signs, audiovisual feeds to assess the patient, with decision-support tools networked across multiple hospitals. The Enhanced Critical Care Operations Center is staffed by critical care nurses, intensivists, NPs and PAs. The telemedicine critical care beds are monitored by critical care nurses and a critical care intensivist along with a NP or PA, both stationed in the Rochester Enhanced Critical Care Operations Center (eICU-COR) in the Eisenberg building.
