How you’ll contribute You’ll make an impact by coordinating and delivering patient care throughout the endoscopy continuum. You will serve as a resource to physicians, staff, and patients; assist with procedures; and ensure safe, quality patient experiences from pre-op through post-procedure recovery. Department/Unit Summary The Endoscopy Unit specializes in diagnostic and therapeutic procedures for gastrointestinal conditions. RNs in this department ensure safe patient preparation, sedation monitoring, procedural assistance, patient recovery, and discharge education. The environment emphasizes teamwork, clinical excellence, and consistent patient support throughout the procedure experience.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited nursing program — Required
  • Current WV RN license or valid compact license — Required
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) — Required within 30 days of hire
  • ACLS — Required within 6 months of hire

Responsibilities

  • Performing patient assessments and developing care plans
  • Assisting physicians with endoscopic procedures
  • Coordinating patient care with internal departments and support teams
  • Monitoring patients before, during, and after sedation
  • Delivering direct, age-appropriate care to adult and geriatric patient populations
  • Evaluating care effectiveness and modifying interventions as needed
  • Demonstrating accountability, professional growth, and excellent communication
