About The Position

Centrally located in the heart of downtown Salt Lake City, the Emergency Department at Holy Cross Hospital – Salt Lake has 15 beds and cares for any and all patients who come seeking care, including infants to elderly, indigent/underserved community members. those with special needs, all racial/ethnic minorities, and psychiatric patients. The nurse-to-patient ratio is 1:5 but can be up to 1:8. Our cohesive team teamwork, dependability and accountability allows us to focus on specific complaints quickly and efficiently, so we can maintain a significantly shorter wait times than all the other hospitals in the valley. An ideal team member would be able to work quickly in a fast-paced environment, multi-task, and make critical decisions efficiently in stressful situations while having compassion for patients and confidence in their abilities. Requirements

  • Associates Degree in Nursing required; Nursing Diploma or by endorsement
  • Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing required for new graduates, preferred for experienced RNs
  • One year experience preferred
  • Nursing skills and knowledge base specific to specialty
  • RN License required; Current state nursing licenses or valid RN license from a participating state in the National Licensure Compact
  • Medium Work - (Exert up to 50lbs force occasionally, and/or up to 20lbs frequently, and/or up to 10lbs constantly)

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelors Degree in Nursing preferred

Responsibilities

  • Facilitating, communicating, and collaborating with both the healthcare team, and the patient/family to identify and meet the physical, emotional, and spiritual needs of the patient.
  • Promote the optimal health, well-being and safety of the patient through use of the nursing process and in accordance with patient care standards, guidelines and the State Nurse Practice Act.
  • Demonstrate personal accountability for relationship-based care, organizational mission, and core values.
